Candidate for Board of Supervisors
Meet Scott Smith
Samuel Miller District
Scott A. Smith is a dedicated professional with a strong background in Enterprise Software. Scott’s expertise enables large complex organizations (like Albemarle County government) to improve their customer experience and increase efficiency through the use of digital technology.
As a concerned observer of Albemarle County’s soaring taxes and alarming levels of crime, Scott sees the need for active, thoughtful intervention. Albemarle County residents deserve more opportunities for affordable living, safer neighborhoods, and smarter economic policies. These problems—and his desire to assist in solving them—are why Scott is running for the Samuel Miller district seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.
Scott’s decades of experience in the innovative world of high tech and in serving customers have honed his skills in innovation, problem-resolution, and leadership. He specializes in helping organizations: 1) achieve their goals; 2) improve their customer and employee experiences; and 3) enhance efficiency in order to reduce costs—all useful qualities for an Albemarle County Supervisor.
A resident of Albemarle County, Scott is passionate about applying his business expertise to local governance, aiming to help the County better serve its residents with cost effective services, improved public safety, and supportive economic growth. Scott desires to hear residents’ concerns and offer them informed representation via his Board service.
Scott and his wife, Nancy, are very involved in the Albemarle County community. They have served as election officers for the 2024 election and have actively encouraged voter participation in various local, state, and national contests. They also are supporters of Young Life and The Family Foundation. After the devastating hurricane flooding last year, Scott and Nancy drove down supplies and packed emergency food bags as Samaritan’s Purse volunteers in storm-ravaged areas of North Carolina.
Scott’s sincere interest in public service and his forward-thinking approach to problem-solving make him an ideal candidate for the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.
